PESHAWAR: The row between Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel and Additional Assistant Commissioner Dr Mohsin Habib was resolved on Wednesday.
A press release of the Provincial Civil Service Officers Association said that a meeting was held to end the row between the minister and the official.
The office-bearers of the association, including its President Zahirul Islam, attended the meeting.
The row between the minister and official took place recently when the former allegedly prevented staffers from removing encroachment from the Nowshera-Mardan Road in Nowshera Kalan.
The minister wanted the additional assistant commissioner to stop the anti-encroachment drive as the traders had staged protest against it.The traders claimed they were not served with notices before starting the drive.
However, the administration said all the codal formalities had been fulfilled and notices served to the concerned for the anti-encroachment drive. The minister took up the matter with the officer in question that led to an exchange of harsh words.
The issue went viral on the social media that embarrassed the minister, who submitted a privilege motion in the provincial assembly secretariat. As the issue remained unresolved the PCS Officers Association held a meeting with the minister to settle the issue.
