ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Tuesday that today all Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) members of the National Assembly should hang their heads in shame for making a farce out of our democracy.
“They opposed an amendment to the election law, simply to allow NS to remain as head of PML-N despite being disqualified from membership of Parliament under the Constitution,” he said in a series of tweets to show his reaction to the rejection of the opposition’s bill to bar a disqualified person from heading a political party.
Imran wrote, “What a terrible and demoralising message has gone out to the nation, esp the youth: that there is nothing wrong with being corrupt.”
The PML-N MNAs, he noted, also showed that their only purpose in Parliament is to protect the Sharif mafia's corruption. In a democracy moral authority is a core principle. Today that was negated by the PML-N which sought to place their corrupt leader above all laws.
Meanwhile, the PTI has decided to launch its mass contact drive’s fourth phase from November 24.
The PTI is all set to expose the reality of Nawaz Sharif’s ‘Ideology’ to the masses and has decided to launch awareness campaign across the country on Sharif mafia’s corruption and its devastating impacts on country’s economy and politics,” a party statement said here Tuesday. The fourth phase of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s mass movement has been announced and Imran will address public meetings in Hafizabad and Mansehra on November 24 and 26 respectively. Chishtian and Leyyah will welcome Chairman Imran on December 3 and 4. The party claimed that mammoth number of people will be waiting for Imran in Jaranwala and Sheikhupura on December 8 and 10 respectively.
While on December 9, Imran will share his party’s future strategies with the tribal people at the Convention Centre here. The ‘caravan of change’ will reach Okara on December 15, where he will address a historic public gathering. Exposing Nawaz Sharif’s corruption will be the theme of this phase. A committee, headed by PTI Spokesperson PTI Fawad, will collect material about Nawaz Sharif’s corruption and on the basis of which different documentaries will be prepared. This campaign material will be disseminated and displayed on all forums including social media and in these mass gatherings as well.
The PTI chairman will specifically focus on Nawaz’s corruption and its devastating impacts of Pakistan’s economy, internal politics and governance during his speeches.
