Food festival kicks off

LAHORE :The new season of three-day Coca-Cola Food Festival kicked off here Friday with a bang following the successful launch of it earlier this year.
The food festival started from Lahore will end on Sunday night with music concert of famous singers of Pakistan. In the second leg, the festival will move to Islamabad where three-day event will continue from 8th to 10th December; in Faisalabad, it will be held on 22nd and 23rd December, in Multan, the two-day event will be held on 12th and 13th January, 2018. The food festival season will close this time in Karachi with three-day activities on 2nd to 4th February, 2018.
The CokeFoodFestLahore promises to offer all of the season’s freshest flavours ranging from a diversity of traditional Desi to Continental, Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Thai), Turkish/Lebanese and Italian. The selection of cuisines for CokeFoodFest has been curated based on the reviews and feedback of the extremely active members of the popular food portal “Foodies ‘R Us”, indeed confirming that the selection is based on popular choice and opinions of some of Pakistan’s most passionate and authentic foodies.
The Food Fest also acknowledges that there is nothing quite like a home-cooked meal for which reason the festival celebrates home-based chefs who make up a significant part of the CokeFoodFest, bringing with them a range of their multi-generational secret family recipes, soul food and unique flavours.
The participants were very enthusiastic. They also witnessed chefs working their magic through cooking demonstrations and enjoy a stellar line up of live music with other fun-filled activities. The selection of musicians from Coke Studio includes megastars such as Strings, Khumariyaan, Ali Sethi, Overload -Farhad Humayun, Nabeel Shaukat, Ali Hamza, Asim Azhar, Sahara UK and Quadrum.
CokeFoodFest spokesperson Asad Sheikh, founder of the influential food collective Foodies ‘R Us said that food was the only common denominator between every culture and it’s the only thing that brings people together. The festival is expected to attract a crowd of more than 200,000 food enthusiasts’ from the five cities of Pakistan, he believed.
CEO at Activemedia Saad M Khan said this is the second season of Coca-Cola Food and Music Festival. ‘We have already come a long way. Expanding to five cities with hundreds of food stalls and the biggest artistes on stage, the festival is set to break all records’, he mentioned.
A diverse panel of culinary talents i.e. local chefs offered special festival menus, discounts, and great meal deals during the festival.
