Lower Dir residents air grievances at public forum

TIMERGARA: The district administration on Thursday arranged a public forum (Kuli Khuchehry) at the District Council Hall at Balambat here.
Lower Dir Deputy Commissioner Attaur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad, TMO Attaullah Khan, TMO Balambat Shafiq Ahmad, District Education Officer Dr Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim, District Health Officer Dr Shaukat Ali, heads of all departments in the district, elected local government representatives and a large number of locals were present on the occasion.
The participants pointed out countless issues in their respective localities. They expressed dissatisfaction at the performance of government departments. The main issues they highlighted included long hours loadshedding, scarcity of drinking water, irregularities in treatment by Sehat Insaf Cards, unwanted speed-breakers on roads, illegal taxi stands in Timergara Bazaar, traffic related issues, especially in Timergara and Balambat.
The deputy commissioner issued directives on the spot to address the grievances pointed out by the residents. He sought thorough report from the departments concerned within 15 days on the issues raised during the forum.
