MULTAN: Two dacoits were killed in an encounter with police on Dunyapur Road here on Monday.
A police party led by Sub-Inspector Abdur Rehman along with dacoits Ghulam Abbas Sial and M Azam Khokhar was going to recover the looted articles. When they reached near Mauza Jehangirabad, two motorcyclists opened fire on a police van to get their accomplices released. The police also retaliated. As a result, dacoits Ghulam Abbas Sial and M Azam Khokhar were killed on the spot while the attackers managed to escape. The killed dacoits, Ghulam Abbas and M Azam, were wanted by the police in 19 and 17 cases of dacoity and murder respectively.
However, the police claimed that the dacoits were killed by the firing of their own accomplices. Seetal Marri police have registered a case against the motorcyclists for attacking police and killing their two accomplices.
