MQM for public hanging of Baldia Town fire culprit

KARACHI: The Rabita Committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday said it had no links with Rizwan Qureshi – the accused in the Baldia Town factory fire tragedy.
In a press statement, Rabita Committee emphasised that the MQM had zero-tolerance for extortionists and other criminals.
The statement called for public hanging of the man allegedly involved in Baldia Town factory fire.
The party also appealed to the media to stop referring to Rizwan Qureshi as a member of the MQM.
The report of the joint investigation team (JIT), pertaining to the fire, was submitted in the Sindh High Court along with the statement of a Rangers official according to which the information was disclosed by an alleged MQM worker Rizwan Qureshi.
Meanwhile, talking to Geo News on Saturday, MQM leader Babar Ghauri has said that the media trial of the MQM has been started.
He said that the PTI and JI have started talking against the MQM on the signals of those who directed them to stage sit-ins.
“I ask Shireen Mazari what happened with Sita White and why her daughter had not been accepted till today,” he said. Ghauri said that the conspirators will now get the MQM involved in the Hamid Mir attack case as we have information of conspiracies being hatched against the MQM. “We know about the individuals and institutions behind these conspiracies. We know who wanted to eliminate the MQM,” he said, adding that people are being misled about the MQM.
If anybody is arrested in Baldia Town why he had not been punished, Ghauri questioned? He said that the police have submitted a JIT report after three years. He said why the JIT reports of other politicians are not made public. What sin has committed by MQM, he questioned? “Our elders had made Pakistan and we want to serve it,” the MQM leader said.
He said, “We are going to fight a war against extremism. No action has been taken against any terrorist after the Army Public School attack.”

When asked who are hatching conspiracies against the MQM, Ghauri said who suddenly made the PTI active. Who made Sirajul Haq active? Who instructed various channels to broadcast his whole press conference live?
The MQM leader said this is a time to save Pakistan and not to create problems for it. If anybody is wrong, give him punishment. MQM does not own any criminal.
To a question about reports that all issues had been settled between the MQM and the PPP, Ghauri said that Asif Zardari had a conversation with Altaf Bhai yesterday.
Altaf Bhai always keeps his doors open to all political parties. We have had meetings with all the big stakeholders including the PPP. If any such thing is finalised, we will share with you.
When Ghauri was asked that MQM had meetings with Musharraf and Pagara Sahab now either an alliance will be made with PPP or the PML-F, he said that the decision will taken keeping in view the interests of Sindh and its people.
When asked about details of conversation between Zardari and Altaf Hussain, Ghauri said both the leaders talked about matters of Sindh. Altaf Bhai talked about past deprivations of urban areas of Sindh and the way people of the province are being pushed against the wall. The former president had assured Altaf Bhai of implementation of 60:40 ratio in Sindh, Ghauri added.
Ghauri said that we don’t have any doubt on the intention of PPP Co-chairman, however, there are some people in his party’s lower ranks which become hurdle in implementation. We don’t have any enmity with each other.
The MQM leader said that the process of dialogue will continue. I think matters will resolve if intention was positive.
When asked about MQM’s stand on administrative units, Ghauri said that things will move ahead and added Altaf Bhai has always welcomed everyone.
