LAHORE: Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospitals have been successful in collecting a record number of hides this Eid, showing a 30 percent increase as compared to last year’s collection.

According to a press release issued here on Thursday, a SKMCH spokesperson said that it was made possible only by unwavering resilience and commitment of the donors to the great cause. All proceeds from the sale of the hides will be utilised in supporting the treatment of poor cancer patients at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospitals in Lahore and Peshawar. This huge increase was despite the fact that this year Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital faced an unprecedented level of hostility, harassment and obstruction from the authorities while collecting the hides.

Over the last 23 years, with the donors’ support, Shaukat Khanum Hospital have continued to provide financially supported treatment to 75 percent of its patients, and it would, Inshallah, continue to do so in the future too. No amount of harassment can dampen its spirit and it looks forward to its donors’ continuing commitment and support.
