JI to chase the corrupt till recovery of looted money: Siraj
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer Senator Sirajul Haq said Thursday that JI would continue to chase plunderers, thieves and corrupt rulers till the recovery of looted public money from them.
Addressing a meeting at Mansoora to review the preparations for JI Ehtisab March from Lahore to Islamabad on September 11, Sirajul Haq said the Ehtisab March would prove a milestone for the eradication of corruption, accountability of corrupt mafia and expedite the movement for making Pakistan corruption-free.
He said instead of controlling corruption, NAB had become a facilitator of corruption and added that until and unless accountability courts discharged their duty, the present system of loot and exploitation could persist.
He said common man was deprived of the basic facilities of health, education and jobs while the corrupt rulers had built palaces inside the county and abroad with their ill gotten wealth. The meeting was attended by JI Deputy Chief Mian Muhammad Aslam, acting JI Secretary General Hafiz Sajid Anwar and JI Information Secretary Amirul Azeem.
Meanwhile, Senator Sirajul Haq expressed deep grief and sense of shock over heavy loss of life and property in Sindh and Karachi due to torrential rains. He said it was unfortunate that in spite of forecast of heavy rains, the authorities concerned had failed to rescue people and provide them with timely relief.
He demanded the federal and provincial governments help the district authorities in the rescue of the people trapped in rainwater. He appealed to the Al-Khidmat Foundation and other welfare bodies to make immediate measures for the rescue and relief of the marooned people. Sirajul Haq expressed deep sympathies with the families who have lost their dear ones in the rain.
