KP govt building micro hydropower stations: Imran

MANSEHRA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was utilising its own financial resources to build micro-hydropower stations to electrify the remote parts of the province.

“The provincial government is supplying electricity to the people in remote parts of province by installing micro hydropower stations,” he told a gathering in Mahnoor valley here.

On his arrival in Mahnoor valley, local party workers and office-bearers of PTI received Imran Khan and accompanied him at picturesque sites there.

The PTI chairman, who is found of touring valleys and meadows, said that the provincial government would develop road and other infrastructure in Mahnoor valley so that tourists could enjoy the serenity and nature with a peace of mind.

“Though I am on a recreational tour, I like exploring such natural attractions, which could be developed to attract national and foreign tourists,” said Imran Khan.

He said developed and even developing countries were using tourism as a tool to earn foreign exchange.

“Will you believe the economies of some of countries are totally dependent on tourism? The time is not far when tourists would come in bulks to enjoy nature and serenity here,” he said.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan also visited Moray valley in Lower Kohistan. Speaking on the occasion, he expressed utter astonishment over serenity and natural beauty over there.

“Allah has bestowed you with such a soil which diverts attentions of visitors to nature and serenity and you should take care of it and avoid hunting and cutting forests,” he added.
