CHARSADDA: The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) has threatened to launch a protest movement against the delaying tactics in the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtun-khwa ahead of the next general election.
Speaking at his residence here on Sunday, QWP’s provincial chairman Sikandar Sherpao said census results should be announced and Fata merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ahead of the general election.
He said the only solution to address the reservations of the people of Fata was to merge the region with Khyber Pakhtun-khwa. The people of all federating units would get their due rights after the census results were made public, he added.
Sikandar Sherpao said his party would not compromise on the rights of Pakhtuns.
“We will continue our efforts to ensure and protect the rights of Pakhtuns,” he added.
He said his party was expelled from the KP government due to its popularity.
