Pakistani black belt wins bronze medal in Taekwondo
DUBAI: Pakistan’s Taekwondo black belt Sinan Ashfaq won the bronze medal at the 1st World Taekwondo President’s Cup being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
In the 65kg category, Sinan Ashfaq performed brilliantly in his group fights and defeated his Kazakhstan opponents. In the semi-finals, Sinan Ashfaq was lost to Uzbek rival.
Talking to Geo News from Tashkent, Sinan Ashfaq proudly stated that he was very happy to achieve the milestone and the experience during the contests.
“The medal is the gift to Pakistan on its 70th Independence day”, Sinan delightfully told with a smiling face.
After the winning of bronze medal in the World Taekwondo President’s Cup, Sinan Ashfaq gave the credit to the coach Nadir Ali, his brother Ammar Ashfaq.
Ammar Ashfaq and Fashiuddin also participated in 75kg adult category from Pakistan in the competition.
The President’s Cup is organised by the Uzbekistan Taekwondo Association (UTA) with sanction from the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), the inaugural edition of the competition brought together nearly 1,000 competitors from across the world in three weight divisions, namely Cadet, Junior and Senior.
