Army to continue working for rule of law along with other state organs: COAS
RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday maintained that efforts must continue to defeat terrorism and militancy in order to establish the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution.
“Efforts must continue, in concert with other elements of national power, to defeat terrorism/ militancy in order to establish rule of law and uphold supremacy of Constitution,” the army chief said while presiding a corps commanders conference here at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The COAS expressed full satisfaction on the army’s commitment to national defence and security.

The forum undertook a comprehensive review of internal and external security environment. The forum also deliberated upon the regional security situation, especially Afghanistan, and reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace and security.
“We look forward to a trust based mutual cooperation in this regard which can achieve the policy ends of enduring regional peace,” General Bajwa said.The corps commanders conference was also briefed about the situation along the Line of Control (LoC).
The ISPR said the forum acknowledged positive long-term effects being achieved through the Operation Raddul Fasad.The COAS appreciated successful conduct of Operation Khyber-4 in the most inhospitable terrain of Rajgal with minimal own casualties, which was made possible through high standards of professionalism.
