PU awards four PhD degrees
LAHORE: Punjab University (PU) has awarded PhD degrees to four scholars. Zaman Khan s/o Muhammad Nasir has been awarded a PhD degree in the subject of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics after approval of his thesis entitled “Cadmium Resistant Bacteria and Yeasts: Their Potential Use in Decontamination of Metal-Polluted Wastewater”, Arifa Khalid d/o Mukhtar Muhammad Khalid in the subject of Botany after approval of her thesis entitled “Effects of Exogenous Application of IAA, BRs and GA3 on Growth, Protein Contents and Antioxidative Enzyme Activities in Solanum Tuberosum L. Under Salt Stress”, Tasleem Akhtar d/o Abdul Majeed Khan in the subject of Zoology after approval of her thesis entitled “Acute Effect of Immunosupressive Drug (Tacrolimus) on Iron Metabolism in Rattus Norvegicus” and Muhammad Zahid s/o Muhammad Bilal in the subject of Communication Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “Effect of Political News Consumption and Discussion on Political Behavior During Election Campaign 2013 Pakistan”.
