Under-18 girls hockey championship from August 4
KARACHI: The national under-18 hockey championships for girls would be held at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore, from August 4-11, PHF announced on Thursday.
The eight competing teams have been placed in two pools. Punjab Colours, Punjab Whites, Balochistan and Sindh Colours have been placed in Pool A. Pakistan Boards, Islamabad, KP and Sindh whites have been placed in Pool B. Punjab Colours are the defending champions. Pakistan Boards were the runners-up last time.
Pool matches are scheduled from August 4-8. After the rest day on August 9, the semi-finals will be played on August 10, and the final and the 3rd-place match on August 11.
Two matches will be played every afternoon except on August 8, the last day of pool games, when four matches are scheduled. The afternoon matches will start at 3pm and 5pm. On August 8, there will be two matches in the morning as well, starting at 7am and 8:30am. Fixtures on the opening day: Pak Boards vs Islamabad (3pm); Punjab Colours vs Sindh Colours (5pm).
