Baloch urges religious parties to form alliance

MINGORA: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) general secretary Liaqat Baloch on Sunday urged religious parties to form alliance for the upcoming general election as the masses were fed up with secular parties.

Speaking to party workers here, he urged Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to come forward and play a role in uniting the religious parties ahead of the upcoming general election. He said the alliance between the religious parties would bring a marked difference in the country’s politics. Liaqat Baloch said that none of his party leaders or worker was named in the Panama Papers leaks.

Baloch said that his party was on the forefront in the drive for restoration of democracy in the country and peaceful resistance to dictatorships in Pakistan. He said the clear judgment on the Panama case would set the country’s politics in the right direction, adding that the nation was supporting the judiciary.

The JI leader said the country would not have faced the chaotic situation had the election commission fulfilled its constitutional responsibilities regarding the implementation of articles 62 and 63.
