Mountaineer recommended for Sitara-i-Imtiaz

Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada has congratulated Dr Abdul Jabbar Bhatti for scaling the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, and recommended his name for the award of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

He was addressing at reception held in the honour of Dr Abdul Jabbar at Sports Complex here.

The reception was jointly hosted by Pakistan Sports Board and Alpine Club of Pakistan.  The minister said it was Abdul Jabbar Bhatti’s great achievement as fourth Pakistani to summit the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest.

He said the mountaineer deserved praise for flying Pakistani flag on Mount Everest.

The minister said Abdul Jabbar Bhatti earlier climbed the highest peaks of world having height of 7,000 meters and 8,000 meters respectively besides participating in Pakistan-China Expedition.  He said Dr Abdul Jabbar Bhatti was an accomplished mountaineer and was an asset for the country.

The minister said Dr Abdul Jabbar Bhatti had been awarded Tamgha-e-Husne-e-Karkardagi and that Pakistan Sports Board had recommended Sitera-e-Imtiaz for him.
