The rupee strengthened against the dollar in the interbank market on Wednesday due to soft dollar demand from importers, currency dealers said. The rupee rose to 105.34/dollar from 105.39 on Tuesday. Dealers said the currency pair continued to trade in a narrow-range. It saw a five paisas gain due to slowdown in foreign currency demand.
