Minorities delegation calls on minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu ordered Bahawalpur Commissioner to take measures for protection of minorities in the district.

The minister was talking to a delegation members who came from Bahawalnagar. The delegation complained through a written application that they belonged to minorities and resided there since 1983. 

They said the district administration forcefully vacated their houses and tried to abolish temple belonged to them. They appealed to the chief minister and human rights minister for protection and justice. The minister took notice and ordered Bahawalpur Commissioner to make arrangements for prompt measures of protection of the affected people.

Cleanliness: Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) and Lahore General Hospital Principal Prof Ghiyas-un-Nabi Tayyab has stressed the need for high standards of cleanliness  so that the number of diseases and patients could be minimised in the hospital. 

According to a handout, addressing a workshop at LGH, he said that in private and public hospitals, work should be done to control infection and manage waste. 

LGH Infection Control in charge Nurse Qurat-ul-Ain said doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, patients and their attendants should work in a team for healthy atmosphere.
