Laptop scheme

The PM laptop scheme is no doubt a commendable step taken by the government to encourage students to excel their skills in different fields. Under this scheme, laptops are distributed to selected students on the basis of merit. The only drawback of this scheme is that the distribution of laptops takes a lot of time. First, the merit list is passed one year after eligible students have applied to the scheme. After the list is published, another two to three months are required for the final distribution of laptops. As a result, selected students pass through a long and complicated procedure to claim their prize.

This is true for many students in Peshawar. Even after the lapse of a year, they are still waiting for their laptops. How much time will the government take to deliver what it has promised? Although such schemes are good to motivate students to study even harder, the government must ensure that the distribution of laptop is done on time. Otherwise, disheartened students will think that this is another broken promise.
