In the modern times of technological innovations and advancements, the importance of technical education cannot be underestimated. It is good to note that in view of increasing demand for skilled workers, the Punjab government is going to establish the University of Technical and Vocational Education in Lahore. The university is being established by the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) in collaboration with China’s Tianjin University of Technical Education.
The university will initially offer six to nine degree programmes to 2,200 students. It is appreciable that the new university will be providing opportunities to the country’s young generation. Students from across the country can obtain technical and vocational training of international standard in this university and can, afterwards, use their skills and excellence in different technical fields within Pakistan and around the world.
