Polyclinic technicians finally get salary
Islamabad
Finally, the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has paid salary to the Federal Government Polyclinic’s several dozen low-grade technicians.
Though these low-grade employees working at pharmacies, laboratories, blood bank and operation theatres of the city's second largest government hospital have got the June salary, the payments for the last nine months will be made in a month or so.
The development comes after the fulfilment of formalities for the appointment of the technicians, who had staged many protests and strikes against the remuneration denial. The protesters claimed they had secured job after passing written tests and interviews and that even the court had ordered the CADD, which had the administrative control of the hospital, to pay them salary, but to no avail.
A member of the hospital’s administration insisted that litigation had hampered payments to junior technicians mostly working in BPS-9. He added that anomalies were involved in the process of the technicians’ appointment and therefore, the payment of salary to them was withheld. The official said the notification of their appointment on adhoc basis had led to the payment of salary to those low-grade employees.
