If anybody believes that Pakistan can survive without being friends with its four immediate neighbours they are mistaken. The Europeans and South East Asians have recognised the importance of friendly neighbourhoods.
South Asians – including Pakistanis – must benefit from the European experience as soon as possible. In this way, Pakistan can become a regional epicentre of peace instead of a hotbed of extremism. This indispensable choice has to be made now. Eventually, it will lead to a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
