PESHAWAR: Around 959 students passed the third professional annual examination 2014 of the Khyber Medical University (KMU).
A total 1,526 students of 13 public and private sector medical colleges of the province appeared in the examination and 959 were declared successful. The overall pass ratio was 63 percent.
According to a statement issued by the examination section, Affaf Gul of Khyber Medical College (KMC), Peshawar, secured 683 marks and stood first in the overall result, however, TujzaTahir and Hiffsa Sohail Taj of KMC with 667 and 657 marks got second and third positions, respectively.
The institution-wise result indicated that KMC topped the list with 76 percent result while Bacha Khan Medical College, Mardan and Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad stood second with 71 percent success rate. The Khyber Girls Medical College, Peshawar 70 percent, Saidu Medical College, Swat 67 percent, KMU-Institute of Medical Sciences, Kohat 65 percent, Bannu Medical College, Bannu 63 percent, Rahman Medical College Hayatabad, Peshawar 63 percent, Women Medical College, Abbottabad 61 percent, Gomal Medical College, D.I.Khan 59 percent are among the institutions showing pass percentage above 50.
The pass percentage of the Pak International Medical College Hayatabad, Peshawar was 43 percent, Jinnah Medical College, Peshawar 38 percent and Abbottabad International Medical College, Abbottabad was 33 percent.
