More rain forecast for two days

Pre-monsoon currents have started penetrating inside the country, the Met office said on Monday and predicted scattered rain in various cities during the next two days. 

The Met officials said moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating into upper and central parts of the country. They added that westerly wave is affecting most upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist till Thursday. 

The Met officials predicted rain/dust-thundershower with gusty winds at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions, Fata, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan & Kashmir while light rain/drizzle expected at few places along Sindh coast. They maintained that hot and humid weather will persist elsewhere in the country.

Weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country while rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Zhob divisions and at isolated places in Malakand, D.G khan, Multan, Bahawalpur division & Kashmir. Rainfall was recorded in various cities including Barkhan (29 mm), Sialkot (City 12 mm, A/P 01 mm), Gujranwala (07 mm), Gujrat (05 mm), Islamabad (Z.P, Saidpur 02 mm), Rawalpindi( Shamsabad 02 mm), Murree (02 mm), Dir (02 mm), Muzaffarabad (01 mm).

Monday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi where mercury reached 49°C while in Lahore it was 35°C, minimum was 28°C and humidity level was 45 per cent.
