Football comes to Pakistan
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is organising one of the largest football leagues in Pakistan. The young Pakistani players can learn a lot while playing alongside world-class players. Many well-known football personalities – such as former England goalkeeper David James and defender John Terry, former Dutch player George Boateng, former France-based player Nicolas Anelka and former Brazilian legends Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos – are coming to Pakistan. According to the PFF, around four million people in Pakistan play football. For now, the league will be played in the following three cities: Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore.
Football players in Pakistan need a platform to showcase their talent. The country has so many great players who unfortunately cannot make it to the national team. The PFF should conduct more such tournaments to discover more players. We hope that the PFF’s efforts will help players learn a lot. It is also the responsibility of the federal government to promote football in the country.
