PAT chief terms JIT ‘election cell of PML-N’
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has termed the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe Panama Leaks scam the election cell of the PML-N which is writing the script for next polls.
Talking to media at Allama Iqbal Airport on Sunday after returning from abroad, the PAT chairman alleged that the picture of Hussain Nawaz was leaked deliberately to build sympathy for him among public.
Qadri stated that all the criticism on the JIT was in fact part of script and to create an impression that the joint investigation team was impartial.He said that polls without reforms would be similar the 2008 and 2013 general elections, adding for revolutions, nation had to take to streets as success couldn’t be achieved without struggle.
He stated that nation was still awaiting justice of the Model Town incident, adding despite the passage of three years, the report of Baqar Najfi Commission hadn’t been made public.The PAT chairman also said the anti-terrorism court issued summons to 124 accused persons of the Model Town incident but none of them appeared. However, he said still two rounds of the Qisas Tehreek were pending and the PAT would launch movement on some appropriate time and options of negotiations with like-minded political forces were still open. He said he would also review the progress on the Model Town carnage.
Qadri stated that he had returned to Pakistan to participate in the Shehr-e-Aitekaf organised by Tehreek Minhajul Quran at Model Town.
The PAT chairman was received by party members, including Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Basharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich and a large number of party workers. He reached Model Town in the form of a rally.
