The rupee remained steady against the dollar on Friday due to lacklustre activity, dealers said. The rupee closed at 104.86, unchanged from the previous closing levels in the interbank forex market. Currency dealers said the trading activity in the market remained dull on the back of slowdown in the demand for the foreign exchange from importers and corporates.
