All the parks and grounds in the union councils would be upgraded as part of the development plan recently approved by the Mayor with an aim to further beautify the green capital of the country.

Deputy Mayor Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi said Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) is taking care of all the grounds in Islamabad and a plan has also been finalized to upgrade them in line with the international practices.

He said the prime minister has announced three hospitals for the federal capital and construction work on one of these would be initiated in Sector H-11 in near future.

Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi said the work on Islamabad Metro Bus Service is under way and it would be inaugurated on August 14, adding "The residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be connected with a network of metro bus service that will enable them to reach new Islamabad International Airport from anywhere in the twin cities."

He said the Mayor has also taken notice of reports about heaps of garbage in various areas and all the concerned authorities have been directed to immediately launch cleanliness drive and remove garbage from each and every part of the capital city.

The water directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) received 754 requests for water tankers on Monday from the residents out of which 597 were entertained on time, he said.
