The Punjab Food Authority has taken a right decision. The ban on the sale of soft drinks to young children is a commendable step. In our country, many people don’t know the serious repercussions of high intake of sugar. A high-sugar diet is linked to behavioural problems in children. Many paediatricians strictly ask parents not to give carbonated drinks to children. It is good news that the authorities are taking relevant action. Other provinces should also follow Punjab and ban the sale of carbonated drinks at schools’ canteens. Sangur Umer Turbat
