Riyadh summit to prove true picture of Islam: FO
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Monday said the Arab-Islamic-American Summit held in Riyadh would prove to be a milestone in presenting the true picture of Islam.
In an interview, he said Islam was the religion of peace, love and brotherhood but some anti-Islam elements were busy in a negative propaganda against that. He said terrorists had no religion and a joint strategy was the dire need of the hour to deal with the menace. The spokesperson said that Pakistan had rendered matchless sacrifices in the war against terrorism. “Today, the entire world is acknowledging the achievements of Pakistan in war on terror.”
He emphasised the need for addressing the root cause of terrorism in order to permanently dismantle this scourge from the society. He said some foreign hands were engaged in fanning terrorism in Pakistan but they would not succeed in their sordid designs.
