Saad praises Chinese investment of Rs1,000 billion
LAHORE: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that Chinese investment of
Rs1,000 billion for upgrading the rail network from Peshawar to Karachi is a good sign for the railways but they would focus on all other small link roads to improve travel facilities for passengers.
The minister said this while chairing a meeting at Railway Headquarters on Friday.
According to a press release, the minister was told that recently PR had given 10 percent subsidy to passengers on branch trains. The PML-N senior leader also sought recommendations for transporting trade equipment to support traders of Sialkot, Lahore and Karachi. He also advised railway officials for taking measures to curb free travel at various sections to control losses of the department.
