Hot, humid weather predicted
LAHORE
Hot and humid weather continued to prevail in the city here Sunday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for Monday (today).
Met officials said a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is expected at a few places in Quetta, Zhob, Malakand, Hazara, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha divisions, Islamabad upper Fata and Kashmir. Rainfall was recorded in several cities, including Malam Jabba, Cherat, Lower Dir, Saidu Sharif, Islamabad Z.P, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad and Garhi Dupatta. Sunday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Jacobabad, Rahimyar Khan, Larkana and Noorpur Thal where mercury reached 45°C. On the other hand, maximum temperature in Lahore reached 42°C while minimum was 27°C and humidity was 17 percent. Following the hot and humuid weather rush was observed at Lahore canal, which was filled with youths jumping in cool water to beat the heat.
