QUETTA: The federal government has appointed Shoaib Mir as the Chief Secretary of Balochistan. He will assume the charge on Monday. According to a statement issued by the Cabinet Secretariat on Saturday, Shoaib Mir, working as Chairman of the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, will replace Saifullah Chattah, who retired on March 3 after serving as the chief secretary of Balochistan for three years. The newly-appointed chief secretary had held various posts in the province in the past, including the principal secretary to the governor.
