Shahbaz, Saad discuss country affairs

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and the development projects of PML-N are evident of speed, transparency and standard.

He said this while talking to Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique who called on him here on Thursday.

The chief minister said sensible people of Pakistan had rejected politics of impeachment as the defeated elements had lost their credibility now. Sit-in trend-setter has set new records of telling lies and it is clear that he has conspired against the development of the country through sit-ins and lock-down, however, sensible people have failed it by remaining indifferent to it which has lock downed their own politics, the chief minister said. He said the country excelled with hard work, public service and honesty, not with protests and hollow slogans of change.

Chinese leader: A delegation led by Peng Yu, vice-president of Provisional People’s Congress of Standing Committee of SICHUAN, China, called on  Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Thursday.

During the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding matters of mutual interest, promoting Pak-China relationships and enhancing cooperation in different sectors. 

Shahbaz Sharif said that Pak-China friendship had no comparison globally and Chinese cooperation had set the basis of a new era in development and progress in Pakistan.

He said that under the vibrant leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, CPEC projects were being executed at an extraordinary speed. He said a delegation of Punjab government would visit SICHUAN very soon in order to enhance cooperation in technology, industry, agriculture and other sectors.

Peng Yu said that Shahbaz Sharif had played a vital role in strengthening Pak-China relationships.

He said that they would promote trade and economic ties with Punjab government. He also extended invitation of visit to SICHUAN to the chief minister.

British envoy: British High Commissioner Thomas Drew called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Thursday. During the meeting, the matters of mutual interest, reinforcing Pak-Britain ties particularly promotion of bilateral relations in various sectors were discussed.

Thomas Drew said that the steps of the chief minister to raise the living standard of people of Punjab were commendable as he had taken solid measures for improvement in education, health and other social sectors. He said that partnership with Punjab government in education, health, improvement of skills development and other social sectors would be continued.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had worked hard in every sector over the past four years. Today’s Pakistan is more developed, peaceful and prosperous as compared to that of 2013, he said. Pakistan and Britain are important partners in this voyage, he added. He said Pakistan highly regarded cooperation of Britain in improving education, health and skill development sectors in Punjab and the partnership would get strong in the coming days.
