Emergency officers return from Turkey

The second batch of 20 emergency officers and instructors returned to Pakistan on Sunday morning after getting training of emergency medical services and disaster management system in Turkey.

Punjab Emergency Services Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer welcomed them at the Emergency Services Academy. He thanked the Turkish government for extending cooperation in improving health care system in Pakistan. 

He held a meeting with the emergency officers and instructors who returned from Turkey after getting training regarding emergency medical services and disaster management system. The delegation was impressed with the transformation the Turkey had gone through during the last 10 years to match the European standards in their efforts to join the European Union.

The officers from Pakistan shared the Rescue 1122’s integrated emergency services model of Pakistan with their Turkish emergency professionals. The Turkish professional were impressed with the progress the Rescue 1122 made, and showed keen interest in the development of a similar integrated emergency services and disaster management model in Turkey. Dr Esen Uysal, director, Urla Training Centre, Turkey, expressed the desire to collaborate with the Emergency Services Academy and learn about the integrated emergency management system of Rescue 1122 through an exchange programme in future. 

During their visit, the Pakistani officials were briefed on the operation of the Motorbike Ambulance Service in Turkey and the Patient Transfer Service Management.
