Dust raising winds with scattered rain hit the provincial capital on Friday morning while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Dust raising winds blew up in the city early Friday while scattered rain was also observed in various localities. This has brought the temperature a little down while humidity level in the city have also increased.
Met officials said a westerly wave is affecting upper/central parts of the country and likely to persist during next three to four days. They predicted that dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan divisions), upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha divisions), Islamabad, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Met office added that hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
Rainfall was recorded at various cities, including Parachinar (23mm), Mirkhani (06mm), Risalpur (05mm), Cherat (04mm), Dir and Kalam (03mm), Peshawar and Drosh (02mm), Saidu Sharif, Malam Jabba, Kakul, Lower Dir and Kohat (01mm), Rawalakot (05mm), Garhi Dupatta (03mm), Muzaffarabad and Kotli (02mm), Skardu (03mm), Astore (01mm), Kamra (03mm), Murree and Rawalpindi (02mm) and Islamabad (01mm).
Friday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Larkana where mercury reached 49.5°C while it was 49°C at Sukkur, Mohen Jodaro and Dadu. In Lahore, maximum temperature came down to 40°C while humidity increased to 27 percent. However, minimum temperature increased to 28°C.
