Roots IVY graduation and achievers ceremony held

Celebrating 29 glorious years of remarkable success and achievements, Roots Ivy International Schools and Colleges celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of the graduating class of 2017 at Jinnah Convention Centre here with the students, proud parents, honourable guests, members of the diplomatic community, social dignitaries, corporate society, heads of NGOs, educationists, media and members of Rotary International.
Prime Minister Mian M. Nawaz Shariff sent a congratulatory note to Dr. Khadija Mushtaq, CEO of Roots Ivy International Schools extending his sincerest congratulations to Roots Ivy International for nurturing brilliance among the youth of Pakistan.
The honourable chief guests for the ceremony included Federal Minister of State for Education, Trainings and Standards in Higher Education Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman, Dr. Musadik Malik Minister of State and Official Spokesperson to the Prime Minister, Maiza Hameed Parliamentary Secretary, CA&DD and Romina Khurshid Ministry of Human Rights.
CEO Roots School System Colonel (r) Chaudhary Rasool Mushtaq, Founder Roots School System Riffat Mushtaq and Dr. Khadija Mushtaq welcomed the guests including Dr. Saeed Elahi, chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Dr. Javed Ashraf VC QAU, Shanawer Baig manager, North Pakistan Cambridge International, Senator Najma Hameed, Capt Rasheed, Edhi Foundation, Sarah Coleman, Child Protection Chief UNICEF, Dr. Samia Rizwan, Chief of Health at UNICEF, Nyinyi Thaunj, Education Programme Specialist UNESCO, Shanza Raza, Education Advising Department USEFP, Faisal Mahmood Regional Development Manager Academics Pakistan at Pearson, Ambassadors of Portugal, Tunisia, Nepal, Kyrgyz Republic, UAE, Oman and other delegations from European Union, Qatar and other members of the media community.
The ceremony was a validation of quality teaching, educational innovation and a comprehensive philosophy of a progressive, global vision. The proud parents were overjoyed to celebrate the outstanding success and achievements of the graduating students who had worked hard throughout the year to achieve this enormous success.
Dr. Khadija Mushtaq, dedicated teachers, talented staff members, valued alumni and supportive parent community together have played a critical role in defining their futures.
Speaking at the ceremony Dr. Khadija said, “Today must be seen as a joint celebration of the achievement of Roots Ivy students and of the 29 years of the school's dedication to academic excellence coupled with the commitment to help all children realize their true potential. Today, we honour those high achievers whose intellect, talent, promise and potential have been recognized by the entire world. I am extremely proud to share with you the phenomenal success of the Ivy class of 2017.
The class of 2017 have broken all previous records and secured an astounding amount of scholarships worth over Rs2 billion. To be accepted by such prestigious colleges, for which even the top high school students in USA prepare a lifetime to get into, is in itself a remarkable achievement. No school or college in Pakistan is even close to accomplishing what Roots Ivy has accomplished this year.”
Other students who brought laurels by attaining outstanding results in their O &A Level final Cambridge and Edexcel Examinations, Foreign Language Exam, Common Wealth Essay competition, NYMUN, IKLC, IKMC, Robotics Championship, Sports Championships, IYLO, RIMUNs, debates, Olympiad, Performing Art competitions, Community Services were also awarded medals, shields and certificates by the chief guests.
Khadija Mushtaq, dedicated the evening to all teachers, talented staff members, alumni and supportive parent community together have played a critical role in defining my future and that of these young vibrant individuals and all “partners in education” who have significantly contributed to the achievements of the year.
At the end, Federal Minister Dr. Musadik Malik congratulated the graduating class of 2017 and applauded the tireless efforts of Dr. Khadija Mushtaq and the entire staff. He also gave the gold medals and roles of honour to the distinction holders. The ceremony concluded with a grand finale of a brilliant, rhythmic calisthenics performance by the students that left everyone mesmerized.
