Two arrested for hundi business
LAHORE: The FIA on Thursday conducted two raids on Japan Centre, Cooper Road and arrested two accused for running illegal business of hundi/hawala.
According to Lahore FIA Deputy Director Jamil Ahmed, the FIA conducted two separate raids on the Japan Centre and seized foreign and Pakistani currency from the places and nabbed two accused Shahzada Khurram and Israr Ahmad.
Pakistani currency worth Rs 1,400,290, prize bonds worth Rs161,400, cheques, ledgers, receipts of Hundi/Hawala were seized from the possession of accused Shahzada Khurram.
According to Jamil Khan, the FIA team recovered Rs149,000, prize bonds worth Rs67,400, 500 US dollars, 500 Greece currency, 312 Saudi rial, 10,000 Korean currency, 25,000 Lebanese currency, receipts regarding foreign currency exchange from the possession of accused Israr Ahmad who was arrested from the spot.
