Graphic art and fashion festival concludes

SWABI: The three-day Graphic Art & Fashion Festival concluded at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute in Topi town of Swabi district on Monday.

Organized by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP), the male and female students of Naqsh Art Society, CECOS University, Comsats University, Iqra National University and others participated in the festival.

A large number of people and families visited GIK Institute and enjoyed the festival. They praised the students for their artworks, designing and music performed at the event. The first day saw a flurry of events at the Agha Hassan Abedi Auditorium of GIK where officially the event started with an opening ceremony.

Fine arts modules, glass painting, graffiti, sculpting and modules of fashion illustration were other features of the event. The second half of the day was taken up by the fashion parade, ramp walks over themes of street style, formal, bridal dresses and others.

The TCKP had established a stall where documentaries were screened for the students and visitors on the scenic resorts and various programmes for the promotion of tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Glass paintings, designing, wall chalking, clay sculptures, fashion modules and water paintings sketched and designed by the students were presented on the day. The students attired in formal, cultural and bridal dresses performed as models and cat-walk on the ramp impressed the spectators.

Noted designer Amir Adnan, who performed as judge, selected the best models, dresses and designing. He was very impressed by the professional outlook and quality of the event and termed it a huge successLater, the outstanding students who performed well in modeling, designing and fashion were given shields, commendation certificates and prizes.

The students and staff members of GIK, Naqsh Art Society, CECOS University, Comsats University, Iqra National University welcomed the initiative.  They said that such festivals should be arranged on regular basis to provide an opportunity to the students to exhibit their skills and artworks.
