Islamabad: Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik has got two years extension in service.
Dr Ikram, who completed the three-year term in office last week, had landed the job in March 2014 after the prime minister rejected the names of two others proposed by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training for it, including then Capital Administration and Development Division joint education adviser Rafique Tahir and then Islamabad Model College for Boys G-10/4 Principal Prof Ali Ahmad Kharal.
Dr Ikram Ali Malik was an associate professor at the Economics Department of the Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, at that time. The FBISE, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, is tasked with recommending curriculum, appointing examiners and supervisory staff to conduct examinations, and ensuring required physical and human resources of the affiliated secondary and higher secondary schools and colleges.
