Sharjeel trying to get back ministry
Islamabad: The Pakistan People’s Party in Sindh is facing division in its ranks with the emergence of Sharjeel Memon on the political scenario, who now started lobbying to get a ministerial slot in the cabinet of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah with the support of his friends in cabinet.
Memon, who is on protection bail from the Islamabad High Court in a NAB’s corruption case, is lobbying for getting back the Provincial Information Ministry convincing his party leadership that he is only person to stand up to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
The slot of Provincial Minister of Information is vacant after the resignation of Advisor to Chief Minister on Information Maula Buksh Chandio, who tendered the resignation following the verdict of the Sindh High Court and now Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah kept this ministry with himself.
The top leadership of the PPP has asked workers to take a hard stance on the interior minister and for this reason Memon and his friends in the Sindh cabinet were lobbying for him to get a ministerial post. However, some senior members off the PPP in Sindh were of the view that Memon need to get cleared his name from the case before taking back his cabinet post.
