‘Students must contribute to country’s success by confronting challenges’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday said that no one could compete with an educated nation and students had to come forward to contribute to the country’s success by confronting the challenges.

He expressed these views while addressing the convocation at the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST). The PPP chairman said that his mother [Benazir Bhutto] was well-aware of Pakistanis’ commitment and morale. He added, “Therefore, with the power of people, she firmly stood against dictatorship. This is the reason why my family became a victim of terrorism.”

Bilawal said, “The young generation of this nation is the reflection of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, because equipping the young generation with good education was Benazir’s dream.”  He said that addressing the SZABIST’s convocation was a moment of pride for him. He congratulated students, parents and teachers for achieving this stunning milestone in their lives.

“University education helps one survive through thick and thin in all phases of life,” said Bilawal. “The process of learning continued throughout one’s life.” He emphasised, “Education helps build a better society and this is the primary reason why no one can compete with an educated nation.”

Bilawal shared that he was feeling ecstatic while watching Benazir’s dream of enlightening the young generation with education turn into reality. He said that other institutions should also follow the footsteps of the Islamabad campus so that the architects of our nation’s fate could be trained in a much better way.
