Thai cuisine festival held
CULTURAL DIPLOMACY
Islamabad
As part of its Cultural Diplomacy, Serena Hotels along with Thai Airways and in collaboration with the embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand, is holding a six day festival of Thai cuisine and culture at the Wild Rice restaurant.
To kick start the event, CEO Serena Hotels, Aziz Boolani and Mrs. Waqar Boolani hosted a dinner which was attended by diplomats mainly from Asian countries; businessmen abd a few regular customers. The event was inaugurated by the ambassador of Thailand, Suchart Liengsaengthong.
In his brief address the host said Cultural Diplomacy was part of their effort to promote the culture of other countries so that a better understanding of each other is developed, something very important for peace and goodwill.
A group of four artistes - three females and a male – presented a few dances that are typical of the country, with colourful outfits; distinctive head gear and other adornments. The movements of the performers are graceful and executed with pleasant smiles so it’s a pleasure to watch them and their act was much appreciated. It is repeated a number of times with breaks so that all diners can benefit from experiencing Thai culture.
A wide range of cuisine is available for guests to savour the flavour of Thailand’s different areas, from the very popular green curry to desserts of different kinds and well worth a visit.
