Operation against sub-standard, adulterated food continues
MCI directorate challans 67 people, notices served on 57 violators of hygiene

The Directorate of Health Services (DHS) of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) is continuing its campaign against food handlers engaged in poor food practices. Especially constituted teams of Health Services Directorate of the authority, are raiding the entire city to ensure provision of quality edible items as per required health standards.
During the last two weeks, these teams have challaned 67 people and issued 57 notices to the violators of hygiene sections of PPF Ordinance 1960. Moreover, 45 litres expired and substandard soft drinks and 50 litres of non-branded, unhygienic and substandard cooking oil was also confiscated and destroyed there and then.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz has directed the Directorate of Health Services to continue operation against sub-standard and adulterated food sellers. He has further directed to ensure the implementation of relevant rules and strict action against sub-standards, unhygienic and adulterated food sellers. He has further directed to submit daily progress report in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Cares 1122 of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) received 123 calls of different emergency nature during the last week and all calls were responded promptly and after providing first aid the victims of different incidents were shifted to nearest most medical facility.
This was informed during a meeting held at CDA headquarters here on Monday. The meeting was chaired by the Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz while attended by senior officers of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA. The meeting reviewed weekly progress of CDA Cares 1122.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz was informed that most of the calls received during the last week were regarding Road Traffic Accidents which were 48 in number. These calls were received from the areas of Jinnah Super Market, Faizabad, E-11/4 Service Road, Moterway Chowk, Zero Point, Golra Chowk, Khanna Bridge, Peshawar Morr Interchange, Iqbal Town Stop, IJ Principal Road, I-8, PSO Pump Kashmir Highway, G-10 Signal Kashmir Highway, Jinnah Avenue, Darbar Chowk G-11, Dhok Kala Khan Stop, PRC Chowk, Bera Pull Barakhau, Police Line Signal Kashmir Highway, 7 Up Chowk, Ghouri Town phase 7, NUST Signal Kashmir Highway, Near Sihala Police Training Centre, Near Chamman Metro Bus station, Zia Masjid, G-9 Signal Kashmir Highway, sector I-10/2, near Police Station Shahzad Town, Golra Morr Roundabout, and Faisal Avenue. Victims of road accidents were shifted PIMS, Polyclinic, Holy Family Hospital, KRL Hospital, PWD Hospital and other nearby hospitals. Some victims who faced minor injuries were provided on spot treatment.
