MANSEHRA: People of Palas in Lower Kohistan have announced that none of locals would file nomination papers against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) contender Zargul Khan in by-election on PK-62 constituency.
“We are thankful to the PTI government for giving status of a district to Kolai-Palas and announce proudly that nobody from the area would file nomination papers against you (Zargul Khan) in this by-election and even you would also be our contender in the 2018 general elections,” Sherbaz Khan, the chief of local Jirga, told a public gathering in the presence of Zargul in Palas on Friday.
The chief minister’s advisors Zargul Khan and Abdul Haq, ex-MPAs Maulana Asmatullah and Mufti Mohammad Alam addressed the gathering as well.
Sherbaz said a warm welcome extended to the advisers of PTI on their arrival in Palas was strong evidence and pledge by locals that they would elect Zargul Khan unopposed in the by-election.
Maulana Asmatullah said that people were unanimous to elect Zargul in the by-election.
Zargul thanked the people of Palas on extending him warm welcome on his arrival, saying that the PTI government protected rights of people of Palas,
“I know successive governments have kept you deprived of development and prosperity but this is our party which would secure your rights and give you the basic amenities,” he said.
