Two target killers, 36 suspects arrested in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), during an operation in Afridi Garhi area here, arrested two alleged target killers on Saturday.
The CTD officials said the killers have been identified as Ahmed and Abdul Razzaq and they belong to Afghanistan.
The killers were accused of firing on a police mobile van in the Tehkal area on March 16, 2017 in which a cop was martyred while another sustained injuries, said an official.
Meanwhile, the police also arrested 36 suspects during operations.
Police have conducted search operations in Gulberg and Pishtakhara areas of Peshawar and arrested at least 36 suspects. The police said that 16 people, including 12 suspected terrorists, were arrested from the Gulberg area while another four were arrested for having incomplete tenancy documents.
Drugs were also recovered from the suspects, police said and added that more than 200 houses were searched during the operation.
Police arrested 20 people, including 11 suspects from Pishtakhara and surrounding areas. Two pistols and dozens of bullets and drugs were seized in the operation.
