Sindh IGP cancels illegal fuel station contract
KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh A D Khawaja has cancelled the contract of a fuel station awarded to one of the high provincial officials.
Well-placed sources told The News that cancellation of the contract had won the IGP more wrath of political high-ups.
According to official documents, copies available with The News, the contract of Police Petrol Pump in District South was awarded to a company on January 1, 2015 by the police department at low rates without bidding.
On Feb 16, through an official letter (copy also available) A D Khawaja cancelled the fuel station’s contract owing to security reasons and illegal award of the contract.
After getting the possession of fuel station, the owner also occupied the police plot by demolishing the wall of headquarters creating serious security threat.
