Speaking at the Quaid’s mausoleum on the occasion of Pakistan Day on Thursday, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar urged all political parties to play their due role in developing the metropolis.
“The country is God’s gift, and it came into existence after Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and our forefathers rendered huge sacrifices.”
Akhtar said March 23 held great significance in the country’s history since the resolution of Pakistan was issued on this date.
He said the presence of all city council members at the Quaid’s mausoleum is ample proof that all want to develop the city collectively. He lauded Pakistan army’s role in eliminating terrorism, adding that the war against terrorism was continuing.
