The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) says maligning of Pakhtuns in Punjab will yield fatal consequences. The PTI senior leader and member core committee Zartaj Gul in a statement condemned assault on Pakhtun students in Punjab University by Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT). Zartaj stated that discrimination and racial profiling against Pakhtuns is highly condemnable.

The PTI leader pressed ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq to take immediate notice of the incident and asked him to show the ropes to the muggers of JI. He said the cultural show was being held with PU administration's permission. He termed the attack a plot to frighten Pakhtuns in Punjab.

Meanwhile, the PTI said the Pakistan Cricket Board’s insistence on investigating spot-fixing issue was absurd. “An election fixer is hankering to investigate the matter,” the PTI central secretary information Naeemul Haq said in a statement.

Naeemul Haq said manipulating the issues on personal preferences and choices will damage cricket. He added that Najam Sethi must keep himself at bay if he really wants fair investigation in this regard. He stated that white collar crimes are investigated by experts worldwide and here in Pakistan the Federal Investigation Agency and National Accountability Bureau has the capacity to investigate and eliminate such crimes.
