UK delegation briefed on Knowledge Park projects

LAHORE

A delegation from University of Lincoln, UK comprising David Cobham, Dean of Translational Education and Dr Termit Kaur, visiting fellow at University of Lincoln, met the team of Lahore Knowledge Park Company (LKPC) on Monday.

According to a press release, LKPC Chairman Muhammad Akram Khan and Chief Executive Officer Ali Bahadur Qazi represented the LKPC in the meeting where the delegates were briefed on the master plan of Lahore Knowledge Park and its priority areas. They were apprised about the support from the Punjab government in terms of its strategic commitment towards the development of this project.

LKPC Chairman urged the delegates to put up a financially viable and self-sustainable proposal of setting up a university campus at Lahore Knowledge Park (LKP). David Cobham recognised LKP as the most suitable potential locale for University of Lincoln to set up its campus in Pakistan. University of Lincoln is ranked among the top 30 universities of UK and is offering multiple degree programmes in the areas of Information and Communication Technology, Engineering and Life Sciences, Arts and Business.

Initially, the university plans to offer degree programs in Data Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics and Robotics as part of LKP. 

UVAS: Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed visited the meat shop of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) and suggested expanding this project to other cities assuring all out HEC assistance in this regard.  UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha briefed the HEC Chairman on this project saying the university in collaboration with the Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab had taken this initiative to provide pure quality buffalo calf meat to consumers.

Lecture: A lecture on diagnostic radiology was delivered by Dr Faisal Khosa, Assistant Professor Radiology, Vancouver General Hospital, USA at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan Regional Centre Lahore.
